Bentley further hints at new long-wheelbase car ahead of reveal

Bentley has released an image that shows the interior space of its new model. It is widely believed to be an extended-wheelbase Bentayga SUV.

It is a short video that Bentley has revealed that refers to a long-awaited new model that will offer “an additional dimension of onboard wellness”. The video shows the interior of the rear door of the Bentayga illuminated in a striking shade of purple.

The model will be unveiled on May 10, and joins the standard V8 car (the V6 plug-in hybrid), the Bentayga S, the Speed, and the more luxurious Speed.

This model will command a premium over the standard Bentayga which starts at PS155555.

Bentley stated that the model was not confirmed. “With an extra dimension in on-board wellbeing, the new model will be seated in sumptuous luxury at the pinnacle, and deliver a breadth and configurations beyond anything else.”

The company also stated that there will be 24 billion configurations. This is not yet known whether it will be available in the Bentley range.

The new model will also allow for the fitting of the Bentley Airline Seat. Crewe claims that this seat will be the most advanced ever fit to a car, thanks to its 22-way adjustment and other postural features.

Autocar was told by company bosses that an extended Bentayga is in the works. They also mentioned that sales success of the Bentayga had prompted discussion within the company about new derivatives.

There were three versions of Mooted: a coupe, a limited-edition, high-performance version (which we now call the W12-engined Bentayga Speed), and a long-wheelbase model, which was used for testing on public roads in camouflage.

Bentley is leveraging the success of the Bentayga model with a variety of derivatives. However, it is also preparing for a new era in electrification.
